Program and Grant Information

Teachers at Summer Training Institute choose parts for building project

The PLTW program may be offered in several different ways. The school agreement that your school signed has been recently changed to stipulate that at least FOUR courses must be taught. Digital Electronics is now an elective in Ohio. You must offer the first TWO classes, Intro to Engineering Design and Principles of Engineering, the elective that best suits the workforce needs of your community, and the CAPSTONE course, Engineering Design and Development.

You may use any of these delivery models:
2 Year Delivery Model
3 Year Delivery Model
4 Year Delivery Model

Course order is optional, however we recommend that you begin with Introduction to Engineering Design and progress to Principles of Engineering.  Then, once the foundation courses are taught, you may pick your elective course.

Information regarding PLTW grants and funding matters may be accessed through the Career Technical and Adult Education website.   In order to receive PLTW grant monies, programs must submit the CTE-26 form to Kathy Sommers in the CTAE office.
