Columbiana PLTW team wins NEORC robotics competition at YSU
The PLTW robotics team from the Columbiana County Career & Technical Center recently took two first
place finishes and won the overall "Advanced" competition at the annual North East Ohio Robotics Competition held at Youngstown State University. There were 38 other teams representing 19 different schools competed in novice and advanced levels of competition.
Columbiana's team members were Ian Shingleton, Jordan Wickham, Sarah Page, Logan Price, Jon Bittinger, and Steven Windle. All are enrolled in Columbiana's PLTW progam as either level 1 or level 2 students. Their challenge was to create a robotic transfer system to move materials from shipping to processing stations. The team placed first in the "Technical Journal" , first in the "Advanced 2"competition and first in the "Advanced" overall category.
