Provisional Certification Eligibility

All first year PLTW programs being visited after February 1, 2007 are now eligible for provisional certification.  Programs visited in previous years during their first year of implementation and meeting minimum requirements will also be recommended for provisional certification.  A formal letter will be sent to those schools being recommended for provisional certification under the two tiered certification system.  Programs visited during their first year of implementation that do not meet minimum requirements will be revisited to determine their status for provisional certification and will be contacted to arrange a return visit.

National certification will now be the second part of the certification process, and will apply to those schools that exceed program requirements and exemplify best practice within the PLTW program guidelines.
